Sarah was labeled "fierce"

Sarah had quite a run with Lady Baron Soccer.  Her senior year as a mid-back defender, she was named "Defender of the Year" on the team and she was also named to the Second Team in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.  On Senior Day, her head coach assigned one word to each of her seniors.  With Sarah it was: "fierce."  Shortly after, the team not only ended up in the playoffs, but made it all the way to the Championship Game (a first in Franciscan University Women's Soccer history).  The Franciscan Athletic Director chartered several buses and a big crowd of student supporters traveled to a field in Pennsylvania where they saw a tremendously exciting match.  Although Sarah's team didn't win (see article on this page), they left everything on the field that day and had every right to hold their heads high.  What's more, and as is Franciscan team custom for every game, after the match they locked arms at midfield with the opposing team and said some heartfelt prayers.
